Family Enhancement Services
The Family Enhancement Services
Family Enhancement is a form of intervention services provided to families who are motivated to address issues currently affecting their family system
Children recieiving services under Family Enhancement remain in their guardian's care. Services are intended to be short-term and strength-based. The caseworker plays a direct role in facilitating services and works collaboratively with the family along with formal and informal helpers in order to address the family's needs. Family Enhancement services maintains a strong link with community-based support resources
When Children's Services receives information that a child may be in need of intervention, a caseworker assesses whether the child's needs can be adaquately addressed through the provision of Family Enhancements services. Only in cases where the child's needs cannot be adaquately addressed through these means will a matter be referred for a Child Protection Investigation
